Fremont, OH - Area officials, community members and other invited guests attended the groundbreaking ceremony held Wednesday, February 27th for Elmwood of Fremont's new, skilled nursing and memory care addition. An estimated 60 guests joined Kathy Hunt, Owner and CEO of Elmwood Communities and her staff in the celebration.
Barb Mason, Executive Director of Elmwood Assisted Living of Fremont provided the opening comments and introduced Kathy Hunt, CEO and owner of Elmwood Communities, Green Springs, Ohio.
Hunt welcomed her guests and gave a brief history and background of Elmwood Communities. She then explained the steps needed to move 30 of the 150-licensed skilled nursing beds from Elmwood Healthcare Center at The Springs to Fremont. The State of Ohio regulates all licensed skilled nursing beds in facilities, so approval had to be given before construction could begin.
"This will be a state-of-the-art facility", stated Hunt. "The new addition will be a 43,510 square foot, single story structure and will feature 30, private skilled nursing suites and a new, Reminiscence Neighborhood with 18-private, Alzheimer's and Dementia suites. We have spent countless hours designing every corner of this anticipated masterpiece. By having many years of experience as one of Northwest Ohio's top senior healthcare providers, it has given us an advantage in designing this new facility. There is no other facility in this area like it. Our focus is to keep it resident and community centered. It is truly all Elmwood, so expect excellence!"
