Director of Community Relations-Campus Wide

The Director of Community Relations is responsible for the sales and marketing of the facility to the community. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, effectively marketing the community through finding and delivering qualified leads; and selling the community through discovering, presenting, and closing qualified leads with the objective of reaching and maintaining budgeted census and revenue goals. Additional responsibilities include ensuring a smooth move-in process; and communicating new resident information to fellow team members. As a key representative of the facility, the Director of Community Relations is expected to know and understand the facility’s policies and philosophies as well as to help foster a positive atmosphere in the community.

 

Responsible For: 
Assisting the Executive Director in maintaining census figures in order to meet budgetary standards for the facility. Tracks and follows up daily on prospective residents to be placed in the facility. 
Provides weekly reports to the Executive Director regarding prospective residents as well as the Director of Community Relation’s activities each week to increase census. Works closely with community professionals in marketing the facility to their organizations. Provides training to community members, staff, residents, and family members to promote the facility. Also is responsible for recording radio commercials and is a "local" voice of Elmwood to the community, completes and publishes the "Elmwood Echo", our company newsletter, quarterly.

 

Specific Requirements:
Works closely with the Marketing Director for advertising, print ads, billboards & community events. Also works closely with the Activity Directors, both in Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing, on the planning and promotional events Elmwood sponsors. Must also market to ALL local hospitals, doctors offices and other medical specialties to promote Elmwood to the community. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Activity Director-Skilled Nursing

Responsible for developing and implementing activity programs for all skilled nursing/long term residents. Works with all staff members increasing the understanding of resident’s social, spiritual, emotional and leisure needs. Supervises, schedules and trains Activity Assistants and volunteers. Works with and encourages input from residents, families and other staff as to ideas for creative resident programming. Participates in, and has input in patient care conferences. Works closely with other departments to assure that resident’s social/activity needs are met in SNF. 
Responsible for scheduling and facilitating Resident Council and Grievance Committees. Handles resident's shopping needs as necessary. Is responsible for all resident’s activity participation. Studies trends in the industry to better service resident needs. This position reports and is directly responsible to theLNHA, is considered a department leader position. Performs any other duties as assigned.
